Do you know how many kinds of drill bits are there?
The drill bit is a tool that rotates and has cutting ability at the head end. It is generally made of carbon steel SK or high-speed steel SKH2, SKH3 and other materials, milled or rolled, and then quenched and heat treated. It is used for metal or other materials. Drilling above. It has a wide range of applications and can be used on machine tools such as drilling machines, lathes, milling machines, and hand drills.
Drill bits can be divided into the following types according to different types:
A, according to the structure classification
1. Integral drill bit: The drill top, drill body and drill shank are made of the same material as a whole.
2. End-welded drill bit: the top of the drill is welded by carbide.
B, according to the classification of diamonds
1. Straight shank drills: drills with a diameter below φ 13.0mm all use straight shanks.
2. Taper shank drill: The drill shank is tapered, and the taper is generally Morse taper.
C. Classified by use
1. Center drill bit: generally used to hit the center point before drilling, the front end cone has 60°, 75°, 90°, etc.
2. Twist drill bit: the most widely used drill bit in industrial manufacturing.
3. Super hard drill bit: The front end of the drill body or all of it is made of super hard alloy tool material, which is used for drilling processing of processing materials.
4. Oil hole drill: There are two small holes in the drill body. The cutting agent reaches the cutting edge through this small hole to take away heat and chips. When using this drill, the workpiece generally rotates and the drill is stationary.
5. Deep hole drill: It was first used for the drilling of gun barrels and stone-covered pipes, also known as gun barrel drills. Drills specially designed for machining deep holes. In machining, holes with a ratio of hole depth to diameter greater than 6 are usually called deep holes. When drilling deep holes, it is difficult to dissipate heat and remove chips, and the rigidity is poor due to the slenderness of the drill pipe, which is prone to bending and vibration. Cooling and chip evacuation problems are generally solved by means of a pressure cooling system.
6. Drill bit reamer: the front end is the drill bit, and the rear end is the reamer. The diameter of the drill bit and the diameter of the reamer are only the reserved amount for reaming. There are also drill bits that are used in combination with screw tapping, so they are also called hybrid drill bits.
7. Taper drill bit: Taper drill bit can be used when processing the mold inlet.
8. Cylindrical hole drill bit: We call it a countersunk head milling cutter. The part with a smaller diameter at the front end of this drill bit is called a rod.
9. Conical hole drill bit: It is used for drilling conical holes, and its front end angle is 90°, 60°, etc. The chamfering cutter we use is one of the tapered hole drills.
10. Triangular drill bit: a drill bit used in electric drills, the drill shank is made into a triangular surface so that the chuck can securely fix the drill bit.
